On the occasion of the Millennium of Caen, 31 monumental works and 6 never-before-seen exhibitions will be installed in streets, squares, parks or around quays, across Caen and the communes of Caen la mer.

Georges Rousse's monumental anamorphosis - Palais Fontette, Caen
Optical illusion mingles with history!
Artist Georges Rousse, famous for his ephemeral installations, transforms the façade of the Palais Fontette with a hand-painted anamorphosis. Visible only from a specific point, the work plays with your perception and transforms the space.

En attendant la mer by Lionel Sabatté - Jetée Paul-Émile Victor, Ouistreham
On the jetty, several tons of Caen stone are laid down... and artist Lionel Sabatté is already at work creating a totem blending aquatic, animal and human forms. The sculpture offers a reflection on the evolution of landscapes over the centuries.
The artist is currently sculpting a work over 6 meters high, in Ouistreham, in a place so significant to Caen's history where for nearly 1000 years, Caen stone was quarried and exported around the world.
